- During the academic year three major examinations are conducted: a) First Term Examinations b) Second Term Examinations and c) Annual Examinations.
- All students must be physically present in the school on the specified date and time of the examination. Students who absent themselves from the examinations will be treated as failed candidates and will not be considered for promotion to the next class.
- Students absent from any examination or tests will not be tested again. Under no circumstances will examinations be preponed or postponed.
- Leave for marriage, religious and other family functions will not be entertained if they coincide with the examination schedule, hence Parents are advised to schedule important family functions to prevent them from overlapping and coinciding with the examinations.
- Parents should not make any holiday plans for at least a week after the examinations, for it is during this period that practical and ancillary exams are held. Also unforeseen events could necessitate a prolonging of the examination schedule.
- Absence from the examination involves total loss of marks in that subject, and this could have a great bearing on the student’s chances of promotion to the next class.
- Students who resort to cheating to boost their grades will be severely dealt with. Students caught cheating during examinations will suffer a total loss of marks for that subject. Strict disciplinary action will be taken, which could include expulsion from the school.
- Students must obtain an exam-permit to sit for the examinations. Students without an exam-permit will not be allowed to write their exams.
- Exam-permits will be issued to the students only after all their fees dues are cleared.
- At the end of every examination parents are requested to to download the progress report card from the school website. Hard copies of the report card will also be given to the children.
- Report cards of students who have outstanding dues and unreturned books from the library will be withheld.
ICSE and ISC BOARD EXAMINATION
- Students appearing for the above examinations are expected and advised to take special note of the following points.
- Students must not be absent for more than 10 working days in the year. Students flouting this rule, without valid reasons, may not be permitted to sit for the Board examination.
- Every student must compulsorily appear for two terminal examinations, one monthly examination and a preliminary examination before writing the Board Examinations. Students not fulfilling these academic requirements will not be recommended to write their examination.
- Any student whose performance is below par and expected standards will not be permitted to sit for the Board Examination.
- All project work is compulsory. It is an integral and crucial part of the curriculum and could play a decisive role in the student’s scholastic success.
- Students should study the entire syllabus and not seek recourse to guide books or limit themselves to choice. This defeats the very purpose of education.
- Failure to submit ‘Projects & Assignments’ could result in the student being refused permission to attempt the Board examination.
- The Board examinations are crucial and prestigious, both for the student and the school. Parents are advised to ensure that the child is not distracted and unfocused at home and that his TV viewing, playing and other non-academic activities are monitored and supervised.
