Regular and punctual attendance in all classes and sessions such as Laboratories, Computer Labs, Seminars/Forums, Field Trips and Chapel Exercises is compulsory.
Students are required to have at least 75% attendance (i.e. max. absence limits to 25%) in each subject during their respective sem./term.
Subject-wise attendance will be calculated on the basis of subject credit hours.
Students entering the class after 5 min from the commencement of a class will be marked absent to that class.
Attendance will be counted from the date of the commencement of instruction for each academic year/semester/term.
No leave due to sickness, social commitments and similar reasons/ circumstances will be given under any consideration. A student will be marked Absent (A) in all such cases.
All absences are recorded daily by the course lecturer and are reported to the attendance’s office on day-to-day basis to be recorded in Master Roll of each student and it is this record that constitutes the official record of the student’s class attendance.
In view of extraordinary circumstances such as sickness, accidents or hospitalizations, another 25% of absences can be considered by the Vice-Chancellor or College Academic Committee by paying penalty of Rs. 100/- fine for every absence provided the supporting documents produced authenticate reasons for absence. However a student having excess absences beyond 50% will be dropped from the college with immediate effect.
In any instance of non-compliance with stated attendance requirements (as mentioned above) in any subject, a student will not be allowed to write his/her final exams for that particular subject during that academic year/semester.
